Heidi & Orville Thompson

Co-Owners

The perfect balance of rudder and sail, Heidi and Orville partner in leading Scentsy with passion, dedication and commitment to more than 230,000 Independent Consultants, 1,500 employees and the Idaho community they love.

Work, home, travel, play: By the Thompsons’ calculations they have spent more time together than the average couple in their early 80s (and they still really like each other).

Married since 1990 and with five hard-working, kind and loving kids (with spouses and children of their own), Heidi and Orville are always exploring new ways to keep Scentsy’s industry-leading opportunity strong and vibrant.

In 2004, $700,000 in debt and determined to avoid bankruptcy, the Thompsons decided to “swing for the fences” to get out of debt while focusing on adding value to others’ lives. Months later, they purchased Scentsy from two young moms in Utah.

They created Scentsy’s mission statement while driving from Idaho to Utah to have their first meeting with potential Consultants:

The Scentsy Mission

To bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses and Inspire the Soul.

What began as a small family business, run from a shipping container on a sheep farm, has grown into an international fragrance company and direct sales leader.

After almost a decade of renting space for the growing company, Scentsy officially moved into its 73-acre campus, Scentsy Commons, which officially became Scentsy’s home in 2013. Heidi and Orville carefully designed the campus to be a warm, inviting, state-of-the-art space for their employees, Consultants and the local community.

The campus is full of friendship, family and fragrance. It is always buzzing with activity: tours, bridge clubs, community events and celebrations. In many ways, it is a fulfillment of the promises made in the company’s mission statement.

But Scentsy’s mission can never really be fulfilled. Heidi and Orville continue to “swing for the fences,” always looking for new ways to provide an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity throughout the world, with a focus on the company’s values of Simplicity, Authenticity and Generosity.

Orville and Heidi Thompson have been called to serve as a mission president couple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from July 2021 to June 2024. During this time, Scentsy President Dan Orchard will serve as Interim CEO, assuming primary responsibility for Scentsy’s operations during the Thompsons’ absence. Dan works closely with the executive team who oversees the various functions of the company.
